• Throughout the academic year, various afterschool clubs and organizations meet to enjoy fellowship and fun. Currently offered throughout the year are:
    • Craft Club
      • Students in Grade 1 through Grade 3 meet once monthly after school to create educational and fun art projects.
    • Chess Club
      • Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 meet once weekly after school to learn and enjoy the game of chess.
    • Rosary Club
    • Tales from Around the World
      • This club for students in grades 1 to 3 meets once per month to explore and discuss Trickster Tales, Tall Tales, & Aesop’s Fables.
    • Great Artists Club
      • The Great Artists Club introduces students to some well-known and not so well known artists. Students then get to create their own masterpieces imitating the artists’ techniques.
    •  Envirothon
      • Students in grades 4 through 8 participate in school test to determine eligibility for the Schuylkill County Envirothon. Students will then then compete against public & non-public schools in the spring at the Schuylkill County Fairgrounds.
    • Student Council
      • The Assumption BVM Student Council consists of classroom representatives from grades five through seven and officers from grade eight. Throughout the school year, the Student Council is called upon to assist in numerous activities within the school. Dress down days, pretzel sales, Halloween parties, and the Giving Tree project are just a few of the activities which Student Council organize and carry out each year. Student Council provides our students with a leadership opportunity in which they will acquire many skills that will be beneficial to them in the future!
    • Academic Bowl
      • Academic Bowl is a competition hosted by CYO for our 7th and 8th grade students. Throughout the year we meet as a club to prepare for the competition. Two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more.
      • Our school has won our district and has placed each year we have participated.  The event is held at one of the CYO district schools in late April. Students have the opportunity to join this team at Nativity BVM High School.  Stay tuned for updates on the success of our team!
    • Class Field Trips
      • Each class takes a minimum of one class field trip per year to various educational locations.
